Located in Trowbridge, the county town of Wiltshire, we praise Allah swt for enabling us to build the first mosque in this ever-increasing town. After having raised the funds to at least lay the foundations of the mosque we realised that a mosque that all local Muslims could attend was not only imperative but sorely needed. Thus in 1997, what was once a far-fetched dream was now a reality. With the help of all involved we were able to finally swing open the doors of our mosque and hear the much-needed call to prayer.

Since its inception, Trowbridge Mosque has become a focal point for the local Muslim community. In its now nine years of operation, Muslims have used the mosque for Arabic classes, meetings, lectures, studies and community and overall educational purposes.

The Board of Trustees, democratically elected, presently make-up the overall management of the mosque. Furthermore, regular meetings, annual selection and of course the onus being on equal opportunities for all has translated in a well-run and efficient centre.

The mosque as it now stands is a bungalow-style edifice being able to house both brothers and sisters. The Main Hall accommodates 400 brothers with a Sisters’ Gallery that can accommodate around 100. There is also a wudhu area to the rear as well as a kitchen for events and the like. Arabic classes are held in the Main Area as well as being a forum for anyone wishing to drop by and learn about Islam.
